On March 12, Guatemalan President Otto Pérez proposed a package of eleven laws directed toward tightening controls on the handling of public funds and combating various forms of corruption, such as smuggling. “It’s a package of laws directed toward strengthening the institutional position (of the state), transparency, and the quality of public spending,” the president stated upon arriving at the seat of Congress together with Finance Minister Pavel Centeno. The president explained that the proposal is the second phase of the so-called Fiscal Pact, one of his chief campaign promises. The package consists in the modification of seven existing laws and the creation of four others, focused on improving the monitoring of public funds, for which purpose basic guidelines are given about how to handle them. The first phase, called Tax Updating, was passed by Congress on February 16 and seeks to increase tax collections by around 585 million dollars over the next four years. The new presidential proposal includes reforms to a series of laws related to the budget, the integrity of public officials, illicit enrichment, state purchases and contracts, and auditing activities, among others. looking for a good President, and especially on legalization of Medicine of plants, coca, opium, plants of God give us for personal possession, and with taxes. He remarked, “I found myself promoting something because I wanted to win, versus promoting something because I believed it was helpful.”He continued sharing, “Back in the ’80s and ’90s, you put out a trailer with all the explosions, and it took until Wednesday before people realized your movie was shit.”In other words, the emphasis of these trailers (and the overall movie) was on the spectacle of special effects, not on characters that the audience could care about. As a result, audiences rejected many of these movies.Hollywood’s focus was developing a narrative around a product (Will Smith) and not the consumer. And Will Smith knows this when he stated, “You’re going to know right away if your product is meeting its promises. It’s like a new idea that we have to make good movies. If people don’t want it, you’re not going to be able to sell it. It was so explosive in my mind that selling, marketing, creating cannot be about me.”Will’s right. It’s not about you.So take a moment and think about it.What is your credit union selling? And what story are you telling with your digital marketing? Is it about hype?Or is it about help?Help first.Sell second. And you will rise above the commoditized promotion of “great rates” and “amazings service” to grow your credit union in a digital driven economy.

The family had good reason to be thankful: Before qualifying for the loan through the credit union’s new Ride to Work program, the woman was up predawn every weekday, waking her daughters so they could walk together to their child care provider before she caught a ride to work. When they needed groceries, they pulled their wagon to and from the store.President Michael Daugherty shares this story to illustrate the impact of Community Plus FCU’s commitment to the nonprime auto lending program, which has produced $3.3 million in loans for the $19 million credit union serving 4,000 members since its launch in late 2015.“It really gave us some validation. The numbers tell us a lot, but it’s these kinds of stories that confirm, ‘Yes, we should be doing this,’” says Daugherty, a CUES member. The PKS is the first party to reject the plan since it was announced on Monday by House secretary-general Indra Iskandar. As many as 2,000 people are due to be tested on Thursday or Friday at the House’s housing complexes in Kalibata and Ulujami in Jakarta. The plan has also been widely criticized by the public as there are still many sick people across the country struggling to get tested. Thousands of people have signed online petitions on Change.org, calling for the plan to be canceled.”We recommend the House cancel a rapid test for lawmakers and their families this week. We are against the plan because there are many citizens and medical officials that have a more urgent need to be tested,” PKS spokesperson Pipin Sofian said in a written statement on Monday.Read also: West Java to conduct COVID-19 rapid tests at three soccer stadiums Three parties outside the government coalition, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the Democratic Party are opposing the plan for members of the House of Representatives and their families to be prioritized for COVID-19 tests. The three have demanded the House cancel the plan, saying that the free tests that are funded by donations from House leaders and members, should be given to citizens who cannot afford them and medical workers who are working every day in hospitals. “It is better to show our empathy toward them. Give priority to those in need,” Pipin added.Dems faction chairman at the House Edhie “Ibas” Baskoro Yudhoyono said on Tuesday that lawmakers should show empathy and humanity toward people infected with the coronavirus and who were struggling to be tested.”Put people first,” Ibas said in a written statement on Tuesday.PAN lawmaker Zainuddin Maliki voiced the same concern as Ibas, saying that amid this situation, all politicians must be wise in setting priorities, and lawmakers should not put themselves first.”I was surprised to hear of the plan. How come lawmakers and their families come first? When it is clear that many medical workers and people are vulnerable to being infected. They are more important,” Zainuddin said.Read also: With low test rates, COVID-19 spreads in shadowsHe said it would be best for the House to cancel the plan, saying there must be many lawmakers who also disagreed with it.”I’m sure they are feeling bad. Shkodran Mustafi started 31 of Arsenal’s Premier League games last season (Picture: Getty)Arsenal, like Chelsea, employed a new manager with fresh ideas last summer as Emery sought to implement a style of play based around building moves from the back and initially Mustafi was a key part of that.A series of defensive blunders towards the end of the campaign resulted in Mustafi being shifted from the middle to right-back or even further onto the bench, but he still started 31 league games overall and like Luiz, was third in Arsenal’s minutes played chart.Team-based statsChelsea endured the odd humiliating result – those back-to-back 4-0 and 6-0 losses to Bournemouth and Manchester City were pretty spectacular – but overall, they were largely solid, conceding 39 league goals. That total was the joint-third best in the division, only behind the runaway leaders Manchester City and Liverpool and compares favourably to the 51 goals that Arsenal let in, which was higher than 13th-placed Newcastle United. It is difficult to judge an individual’s performance within the framework of a team-orientated statistic such as goals conceded, but clearly, Chelsea possessed a more cohesive, effective defensive unit than Arsenal, with Luiz playing his part in that.AdvertisementAdvertisementIndividual comparisonChelsea also enjoyed more possession on average than Arsenal did last season with 60% compared to 56% meaning Mustafi had slightly more defending to do than Luiz might have which skews certain individual statistics. For instance, playing in a team that defended more, Mustafi ranked ahead of Luiz for tackles won (62-41), interceptions made (58-35) and aerial duels won (123-82).In terms of tackles won both players succeeded with 0.87 of their attempts per game, while Mustafi made almost double the number of interceptions with 1.87 per game compared to Luiz’s 0.97.The contrast in their respective aerial duel totals is particularly interesting, though, with Luiz winning just 53% of his contested aerial duels – remarkably low for a defender – compared to Mustafi’s 66%. Shkodran Mustafi in disguise? Why David Luiz would be a major upgrade for Arsenal Advertisement Pictures: Getty/RexArsenal’s frantic search to sign a centre back during the dying embers of the transfer window has led them to an unlikely source: Chelsea’s David Luiz. With just over 24 hours remaining until the English transfer deadline passes, reports emanating from France have claimed that Luiz has refused to train at Chelsea in order to push through a move to Arsenal. The 32-year-old is reportedly concerned about the amount of regular football he will be given by Frank Lampard with Kurt Zouma set to feature prominently under the new Chelsea boss.Unai Emery, meanwhile, is desperate to reinforce his central defensive options following Laurent Koscielny’s move to Bordeaux and Luiz is a proven performer in the Premier League.ADVERTISEMENT David Luiz could form a balanced central defensive partnership with Sokratis Papastathopolous (Picture: Getty)Arsenal had been linked with the likes of Dayot Upamecano at RB Leipzig and Juventus’ Daniele Rugani, but with William Saliba arriving from Saint-Etienne next summer, securing the services of a wily old veteran in the short-term could be a savvy move.Luiz and Mustafi were both recruited by their respective clubs in 2016 and of the pair, the former has been far more consistent than the latter.More: Arsenal FCArsenal flop Denis Suarez delivers verdict on Thomas Partey and Lucas Torreira movesThomas Partey debut? Gary Neville once said he played as if controlled by a ten-year-old on a PlayStation, Luis Suarez nutmegged him twice to score in one game, and his performance in Brazil’s 7-1 shellacking to Germany will live long in the memory for all the wrong reasons. But despite all that, surely he’s a better option for Arsenal’s defence than the walking disaster that is Mustafi, right?David Luiz vs Shkodran MustafiLuiz has certainly had an eventful second spell back at Chelsea, performing brilliantly in their title success in 2016-17, losing his place under Antonio Conte the following season and then re-establishing himself under Maurizio Sarri.Following his travails under Conte, Luiz was unquestionably one of the main beneficiaries of so-called ‘Sarri-ball’, starting all but two of the club’s Premier League games and racking up the third-highest number of minutes last term. Advertisement David Luiz’s distribution was a key aspect of ‘Sarri-ball’ last season (Picture: Getty)If Emery is looking for a centre-half that can physically dominate opponents, Luiz doesn’t appear to fit the bill. Instead, his game has always been based around spraying passes across the pitch and progressing the ball out of defence. In that regard, Luiz would definitely offer an upgrade to Mustafi. He ranked top across any player in the division for through balls completed with 41, averaged 72 passes per game compared to 59 for Mustafi and enjoyed an 88% pass completion rate to 82%.ConclusionJudging by his form towards the end of last season and even into Arsenal’s warm-up matches for the upcoming campaign, there would be plenty of defenders who would offer an upgrade to Mustafi at this time.Luiz, despite his age and his propensity to commit the odd howler, would be a better option to the German in Arsenal’s defence, owing primarily to the quality of his distribution as well as his improved concentration levels since his return to English football in 2016.AdvertisementAlthough Arsenal would trade down in aerial terms by switching Luiz and Mustafi, Sokratis Papastathopolous’ no-nonsense approach to the art of defending could dovetail quite nicely with the Brazilian’s more cultured style.
By Demola OjoPerennial rivals Manchester United and Liverpool clash today in a high stakes match at Old Trafford. Apart from bragging rights, crucial points are up for grabs as sixth place United can get within two points of Liverpool who started the weekend in second place.United’s morale is high but they started the weekend 10 points behind Chelsea, so José Mourinho’s men need to win to have a chance of taking the title. Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool can lose and still be in the race even though both Tottenham and Arsenal have leapfrogged them in the table with resounding 4-0 wins against West Brom and Swansea respectively, yesterday. United hope to have Zlatan Ibrahimovic available after the striker missed the 2-0 EFL Cup semi-final first-leg win over Hull last Tuesday due to illness. He will be assessed before the match at Old Trafford.Without the talismanic Swede in midweek, United extended their winning run in all competitions to nine games as goals from Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini secured victory.Klopp’s side have not won in three matches in all competitions and have failed to score in their last two. They were held to a goalless draw at home by Plymouth in the FA Cup and then beaten 1-0 by Southampton in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final.Klopp says United are “better” than they were earlier in the season when a defensive display led to a stalemate at Anfield.“They are more used to each other,” he said. “To use only one example, but I think Henrikh Mkhitaryan is an important example, it took a little bit of time – that’s normal. Now they can use his outstanding quality.“[They are] more confident. It’s a different side, if you want. There was no doubt about the quality of the players when they played here. But it was not that tuned, maybe. [Now], it is. So that’s a different thing.”Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and defender Joel Matip are back in training and could be in contention to start today. Henderson has missed the last three matches with a heel problem while Matip has been sidelined for a month with an ankle injury.Playmaker Philippe Coutinho could be in line to start after making a 30-minute comeback appearance against Southampton in midweek after ankle ligament damage, while Simon Mignolet will return in goal. This will be the 50th Premier League meeting between Manchester United and Liverpool – United have won 27 of the previous 49 (D9 L13). Liverpool have lost 11 of their last 14 visits to Old Trafford in the Premier League, winning the other three.Liverpool have lost more Premier League matches (27) and also the most overall league matches (67) against United than versus any other opponent. This clash has seen 16 red cards shown in the Premier League – only Everton v Liverpool (21) has produced more dismissals.United had just 35 per cent possession vs Liverpool at Anfield in October, their lowest total in a Premier League match since Opta began recording this data in 2003/04.Share this:FacebookRedditTwitterPrintPinterestEmailWhatsAppSkypeLinkedInTumblrPocketTelegram

The organization put out a contest for artist to design a mural in order to beautify the ReStore. Szatkowski’s designs were selected out of a number of submissions.“They had a contest to pick the artist and he was a perfect pick,” said Mayor Matt Waligora.Szatkowski took seven days to create the piece. He merged two of his submissions from the contest to create what people can now see off of the corner of 5th Avenue and Chisholm St. The piece embodies the core values of Habitat for Humanity’s mission. Volunteers took another seven days to put the mural into place and paint the bricks.“It shows everything that Habitat wants to depict to everyone,” said Szatkowski. “When you look at the picture or the mural, I think even children could understand.”The project which was expected to be completed in fall came just in time for the 4th of July. The Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan and Habitat for Humanity both chipped in funds to make the artwork possible. Now, the city will have more beauty for locals and outsiders to enjoy for years to come.“The city has taken a more arts and culture aspect and direction in the past couple years and this obviously adds to that,” said Waligora.People can check out the design over at the Habitat for Humanity Restore located at the corner of 5th Avenue and Chisholm Street. For more information on Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Michigan, visit http://www.habitatnemi.org/AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterShare to MoreAddThisContinue ReadingPrevious Fuel Tanks Leak in the Basement of Mr. Ed’s IGANext What’s Trending for July 2
